His work has taken him from his personal studio to war zones, high-Arctic weather stations, reindeer nomad camps in Siberia, and the Arabian Desert. aAron's projects tackle extreme human experiences, both far from and close to home, utilizing film, video, photography and sound to create visual explorations relating to mental illness, memory, and the conscious mind.

Filmography and Other Work:

Current Projects:

“Being of Chemicals” - In production on a multimedia exhibition that displays macro photography, single-channel video and video installation capturing chemical reactions. These reactions represent how emotional states are dictated by the chemicals within us. Will be shown at The Front Gallery in June 2019.

"The Same Road Twice" - A multimedia exhibition about the Dempster Highway and the town of Inuvik in the Canadian Arctic. The project explores how memories related to a person's past are perceived, and the disconnect that often exists between the mental landscape and reality. This exploration is achieved
through multiple visual mediums & experiences that demonstrate how the medium itself shapes our impressions, and memories of a place. Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.

"Isachsen” - A multimedia exhibition that explores the themes of isolation and depression through my father’s experience at a remote Arctic weather station in 1974 -75, and my own visit to the abandoned station 40 years later. Funded by the Edmonton Arts Council and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
Exhibited by dc3 Art Projects in January of 2018. The project is a collaboration with artists David Hoffos, Dara Humniski, and Gary James Joynes.
